Hello,
I am a French "Plattenspieler addict" (sorry, I can't write in German) and I am renovating Lenco models and Braun models.
I have Lenco's B55, L75 and L78 but Braun models offer the combination of the idler wheel and the belt, that is to me the perfect arrangement.
From my experience in fixing Lenco's, Thorens' and other various brands, I can say that manufacturing of the Braun's is of the utmost level of quality.
I am very proud of trying to make my PS410 dated 1968 turn again.
Not to be mentioned too loud (while my wife is not listening), I should put a hand on a PS420 in the coming days ... javascript:emoticon('8)')
Back to my PS410 : the wiring of the tone arm was mono (3 wires only + the arm ground) and short circuited. No other choice that trying to rewire it.
But, despite all the care I paid to this operation, I badly damaged the connecting part at the end of the arm (the part where the wires are welded).
I am afraid not to be able to make it work again.
So my question is : is there any possibility to find either a full tonearm for PS410 (for example an arm with damaged bearings) or only the connecting part (with the flying nut) ?
I am ready to consider any proposal.
Another question : any suggestion to limit or cancel the purring coming from the motor (electrical or mechanical noise ? I don(t know) ?
And Merry Christmas to you all, found of Braun !
