CSQ 1020 (pegel) balance problem

#1 Beitrag von Harmony » 01.11.2012, 19:37

Some time ago I gave my Braun preamp CSQ 1020 a service to clean up the 'Schiebereglern' and now it works great, but unfortunatelly the Pegel Schieberegler cannot still give the full sound balance between the left and right channel...

The left channel of the Pegel sounds to soft (about two stripes) compared with the right channel...So to get the 'right' balance I must give the Pegel on the left handside two stripes more...
Sometimes (very seldom) there is a slight "Knack/Knister"sound on the left channel.

My repairman have done excellent work for me in the past for my Braun equipment but is not specialized in Braun.

Have somebody any idea to solve this technical problem? What is exact the technical problem? Who can give my repairman special advice?

Your reaction in German language would be no problem for me!

Thanks for your reaction.

So far no reaction. Possibly is my question not very clear. :?

In fact my question is: how is it in a technical way possible that I do not have a good Pegel balance between the right and left channel?

Hi Harmony,

there can be a lot of reasons why there is a difference in volume between left and right channel.

You should specify more technical details, e.g. is the diffeence with all inputs (phono, reserve, band), is there a change if you press either quadro, stereo or mono? Do you have attached the remote control?

Regards,

Raimund

The Pegel balance problem is on all the sources also on the quadro, stereo or mono buttons....

I don't have a remote control but is it possible that the last owner of the CSQ left the remote control in a certain 'stand by' position to cause a certain balance difference? In this case a too soft sound on the left Pegel channel.
Is it possible to change this 'stand by' position without the remote control?

My repairman has metered the most essential electronic parts but could not find anything...

Your attention to the remote control could give a solution for the problem :)

Hi Harmony,

the remote control is just a mechanical one. If it is not connected there is no influence to the amplification of the CSQ.

If your repair guy checked the CSQ with a signal he should be able to tell you in which part of the CSQ the difference between the channels first shows up. But probably he didn´t measure anything?

The problem could be the Pegelregler (level control) itself, the level amplifier, the tone control unit or the filter unit.

Regards,

Raimund

Dear Raimund,

Thanks for your advice. I will return the CSQ to the repairman to check everything.

I will let you know the results of it.
