LS130 Midrange Replacement

#1 Beitrag von ksn » 15.04.2013, 14:35

I don't know German, sorry, but there seems to be nowhere else to ask about this. Hopefully someone who knows some english can help me out.

I have LS130 speakers, and one midrange is damaged and cannot be repaired. Any advice on how I can get a replacement from Germany? I keep a watch on ebay.de but very little comes up.

It was extremely hard to get an entire set to the US (without damage), but finally got most of it 8)
I'm still missing some back panel covers and maybe a CD player.

Cheers

Hi - maybe I can help you! But not in real short time - there ist some way to go.

I got two new midrange chassis two years ago from Uli. Those were replacing one not so good chassis.

One chassis got damaged during transport - so I have two in my basement. I always wanted to ask Mr. Hebermehl whether he wants to have one for his spare parts shelter and whether he could repair one for me.

Let's do it this way: I'll take both to Braun-Börse (Fair) in three weeks in Darmstadt and show them to him. If they are repairable, let's see what the price is and then we could send you one.

If you don't get another one easier and earlier – o.k.?

Best Regards –

Rüdiger

Hi,
I might be able to help you out with a CD player. I am on vacation right now, if you interested, you can send me an email or a personal message next week.

Kind regards from Canada.
Wilhelm

It would be nice if you could add a name to your postings.

Rudikar, that would be great! I am not in a hurry and cost should not be an issue. Please let me know if you find out more.

Wilhelm, will do. I'll send a PM next week. Apologies about the name, not too familiar with the customs around here.

Best,
Kevin

Hi Kevin,

I'm on vacation right now - I'll send you a PN with pictures when I'm back. Generally I got one midrange repaired by Mr. Hebermehl recently. How to send that overseas and whether that makes any sense - we can discuss that in the week after next week - o.k?

See the pictures first. (It works, but doesn't look like new.)

Thanks for the link and heads up, vinyl!

I'm gonna contact that seller and check with him. Let me know what you think, Rudikar. I think this would be less trouble for you, and the seller is in the US too, so it will be easier/cheaper to ship.

Thanks for all the assistance :)

I have a new question regarding my speakers. I replaced the midrange and it sounded great but I turned it on the other day and I heard some cracking noise from my right speaker for a few seconds. Now my right speaker is really quiet, very low volume, but my right speaker is normal. Could this be because the fuse is out?
