question regarding replacing Braun L710 defect tweeter

#1 Beitrag von megaptera » 16.12.2012, 23:24

Hello,

I have a question: is there any difference between the LC2, LC2/2, LC2/3, LC2/4 tweeters?
I ask this because i need to replace the tweeters from my set of Braun L710 which contains LC2
I can purchase the LC2/4 right now, or would be this a mismatch with the overall components of the speakers?

Thank you in advance!

Yves

Hi Yves,
wellcome to our Braun forum.
From technical point of view I would estimate that the differences between LC2 and LC2/4 are minor. Please have a look to the Screenshot I made from an old Braun broschure from 1973 where you can compare both driver units by its specs.

Nevertheless I would recommend to try keeping consistancy between both loudspeeker by taking the original tweeter configuration on both sides. You might face a hardly noticable inbalance which could influence the quality perception subtile.
Sometimes it is better to repair a tweeter unit rather than to subsitute it with something comparable. If you consider repair we are able to recommend an experienced Service for repair of Braun Loadspeakers and its single driver units.

Best regards,
Jens

Hi,

according to my records the newer LC 2/4 replaces the older LC 2. There should be no difference in acoustic quality between both.

Raimund
